red and white

Love this table setting of red and white (and a hint of green) and don't those simple white balloons add a lovely sense of celebration. Image from Snippet & Ink.

simple, beautiful

Simple, fresh, clean packaging from Cote Bastide.

lullaby

This is the most beautiful children's room I have ever seen. Such sweet serene details. I can imagine many nights of dream adventures from under the covers of that gorgeous bed.

From the book Found Style: Vintage Ideas for Modern Living which is now on my 'must-have' list.

back to basics

Ever since I saw these cotton voille pants by Bassike while on holidays I've been wanting a pair to throw on almost every other day...

I love a brand that offers quality basics in well designed silhouettes. And they're made from gorgeous organic cotton. Luxurious, relaxed and simple.

favourite things

Some very pretty polariods from Favourite Things a weekly polaroid colaboration between two talented photographers Alicia Bock and Susannah Conway. Looking forward to seeing the next installment...

vietnam!

I'm escaping! I've just booked to fly off to Vietnam for a couple of weeks in May... So excuse me if I lose myself in flickr for a while...

Would love to hear from anyone that's been... any recommendations are most welcome!

focused colour

Love the splashes of vibrant colour against the white interior in this corner, I'd love to own everything in this space, but especially that soulful little elephant! Hoping to pick up some handmade pieces like these on my upcoming travels, but more on that soon...

year of the ox

Today we are celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Ox, with a reunion dinner yesterday evening and more today. There is always lots of food including the traditional fish, noodle and lettuce dishes all symbolising luck for the new year... Here's hoping for a happy and prosporous year of the Ox!

portraits of a nation

Feeling a little patriotic with Australia Day coming up on Monday, so I just had to share these images from Marie Claire magazine's Portraits of a Nation. Some of Australia's most iconic designers take the humble Bonds singlet to a new level with some very lovely results. I think the Collette Dinnigan piece would have to be my favourite, but of course I love the styling around the Sass & Bide piece...

Visit the site to take a look at them all and bid for your favourite to support Clean Up Australia.

to have and to hold

Some interesting pieces from Ville Kulla. I am quite obsessed with old wire baskets at the moment since I managed to find an old tray at an antique traders in Bangalow...

chalky

I think I would like to have a mood board like this is my studio, complete with pink chalk... That shade of pink combines with the chalky black so well don't you think? From the home of Carolina Herrera Jr. featured in Domino magazine's house tours.

holiday style

Loving the relaxed, yet glamorous resort style of Woodford & Co. Perfect for the last half of Summer ahead... I think I'm still in holiday mode...

back

I'm back from a beautiful week by the sea and under the trees around Byron Bay... And I'm totally in love with Bangalow... The trees, the people and the places... so beautiful. I could definitely call it home - especially if home could be a gorgeous airy retreat like this one currently for sale (via Domain). Pure heaven...

caravan interiors

I have always wanted to go to Bondi's Caravan Interiors but haven't had the chance yet... And after seeing this gorgeous image from Daily Imprint I think I'll simply have to go and see their wares for myself very soon! Looks like they have some beautiful beachside inspired pieces. Perfect for New Year's decorations.

Notes for 2009

Hello 2009...

Hope your holidays were wonderful. Mine's not quite over yet - one more week of relaxation in Byron Bay. But before I go, some notes for 2009...

I resolve to...

- travel to unknown places
- take out my camera more
- walk more
- read more books
- work with my hands more
- get into the garden!

Let's see how we go...
