Noel...
Next Christmas I really am going to try my hand at making some little feather and nail angels, inspired by ladyinthetower.

More happy wrapping: natural textures
Although I'm obsessed with white wrapping, natural textures are still my all time favourite. Kraft paper lolly bags, natural linen thread, tape and brown paper boxes. Oh how I love it all!
ghost lamp
I've been seeing these ghostly sheer fabric and wire lamps in so many spaces lately, so beautiful.

happy wrapping!
This Christmas I'm all about white cotton string, mini wooden pegs and glassine bags... and looks like I'm not the only one, our cotton string balls and mini peg bags have been flying out the door. Happy wrapping everyone!
Here we go!
And just like that it's the last week in the studio for 2011. What a year it's been! I'll be sharing a few more Christmas posts and bits and pieces this week, then I'll be signing off for the year. We'll be back for a new year on the 9th of January.
A little holiday fun found on pinterest.
hardware
Lately I've been looking for some new wall hooks for our home. Ever since I was little I enjoyed visiting the local hardware store, it must be something about all the little hooks, nails, pulls and handles all arranged and displayed. I still find and collect anything hardware related that is traditionally and beautifully made - although things like that are so much harder to find now.
My favourite sources for beautiful hardware are Baileys (above), Fog Linen and Anthropologie.

On the table at our Fête editorial - our wooden cutlery sets all wrapped up in translucent envelopes tied with linen string, hand-stamped muslin bags and lots of pretty sweets.
A Follow Studio Christmas: Gifts + Paper Goods
Our gifts that featured in our Fête editorial are wrapped this year with our cotton string and white paper, finished with blind letterpress gift tags (designed for beautiful Mosman boutique Pond).
If you've never visited Pond's two Mosman stores, you really must! They are a personal favourite and carry the most lovely refined pieces in a perfect Follow Studio palette.
A Follow Studio Christmas: Flowers + Story
Words from our Fête editorial...
"When you work for one of the country's most stylish designers, it's a pretty good bet the annual Christmas party will be something special.
We asked Jessie James, the creative force behind Follow Studio, how she plans on celebrating her office Christmas party. Her take on the festivities is like a breath of fresh air – there is something quite special about a little bit of calm around Christmas. Jessie fills us in on the details, "My aesthetic is natural and ethereal but still a little rustic.
Lots of white-on-white textures, with bursts of fresh pastels – it’s my version of a white Christmas – Australian summer style". When Jessie lays down this spread for team they will be set to enjoy delicate sweet treats and Champagne as they celebrate the year that was. "For our Christmas I like everything to be simple – nothing too formal or traditional, lots of beautiful festive details and a little bit of indulgence. And of course, gifts! A simple but special celebration of everything Christmas – gifts, crackers, decorations, lights, food, family... peace and joy!"
A Follow Studio Christmas
On Friday the beautiful Fête was launched with a special Christmas issue - I am so proud to have our Follow Studio Christmas editorial featured alongside some of my design and style favourites - Sibella Court, White Wall Photography and Fête's very own Annabelle Kerslake and Jane Cameron.
If you haven't already you must hop over to see Fête for yourself, it is really the most stunning magazine, I can't wait for the next issue in February and the print annual in 2012!
I'll share more photographs and the story from our editorial this week. This was my first time going solo with the design, styling and photography, so I'd love to hear what you think!
white elephant stall love
Thank you Odessa May Society!
wrap
In case our Christmas shoot sneak peek didn't give it away, I'm all about white on white textures for gift wrapping this year, something a little different from my usual kraft paper and string. Love the simple, crisp and oh-so-elegant look.

snuggle up!
So we're now having the coldest December in half a century here in Sydney, feels like winter again! Time to snuggle up again for a while, seems like it might never stop raining!
Pretty pic from Bodie and Fou.
Fête magazine
I've been waiting to share some exciting news, and I'm now so happy to introduce Fête - a magazine dedicated to making everyday a party. Follow Studio is so proud to be involved in such a beautiful concept - that's our Christmas table editorial on the cover of the Fête press kit.
Fête's launch issue is on it's way (online and free!), and I'm looking forward to sharing the rest of our Christmas shoot with you all. Head on over to the Fête facebook page to become a fan and be one of the first to see when the issue launches on Friday.
labels with love
Lately we've been doing lots of creative packaging projects - labels for jam jar favours, sewn glassine bags for confetti, flag cut tags for kraft lolly bags... so when I saw this lovely label idea from Jacqueline Morabito at Bodie and Fou I thought something like this could be perfect for packaging something beautiful with simple, elegant detail.
